DUNGEON DELVE #5
MYSTERY OF THE WOOD OF DARK BOUGHS

Farmers living near the sleepy, bucolic hamlet of Alfandi awoke one morning a few weeks ago to discover their crops ruined and their livestock sickened by some unknown blight. Word of this misfortune quickly spread throughout their community. The farmers met with the hamlet’s leaders to uncover its cause, though little talk was needed: all were certain it was the work of black magic!

Unknown to the citizens of Alfandi, this blight is spreading quickly. If left unchecked, their community is doomed unless your group of adventurers can put an end to this madness. All clues lead the party to a strange enchanted wood that holds the key to stopping the malign curse. There isn’t much time to solve this mystery, however. Other evil and self-serving factions are at work to ensure that the blight takes hold on the land.

About the Module

DD5 Mystery of the Wood of Dark Boughs is a 32-page module for characters levels 2 to 4. The players attempt to solve a dispute between two neighboring villages that leads to something much more sinister. The adventurers must search farm steadings, an enchanted wood, and, finally, a dreadful marsh to uncover the widening gyre of the mystery. While looking for clues, fearsome ogres, sirines, bullywugs, and more attempt to thwart the party at every turn. This low-level adventure features both wilderness and dungeon locations for the players to explore.
